About: Toby has been in private practice since 2022 following the completion of his graduate degree in Narrative Therapy and Community Work at the University of Melbourne. Toby has worked in the field of Mental health and Substance use for over 25 years. Toby also holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University and is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers.
Toby is an autistic & learning disabled person, and a parent of two autistic children. He brings his own personal experience with neurodiversity to his work and believes that lived experience is vital to conversing with those who seek help.
Toby approaches his work from a person-first lens and is interested in working on whatever goal or problem is presented by the individual. He sees his work as a conversation or consultation and believes the person seeking his help is the expert and has agency in their lives.
