About: Shana is a registered clinical counsellor with over 22 years working in community social services and mental health with children, youth, adults and families in a variety of capacities focusing mostly on gender-based violence, life adversity, and trauma. She works holistically from a person-centred, strengths-based perspective using a trauma-informed lens to support and enliven the natural wisdom that is in all of us. She is guided by her education, passion for social justice, and by both her work and lived experiences. Through her own work she developed self-compassion, acceptance, curiosity, and a willingness to sit with uncertainty and discomfort – this has shaped who she is as a counsellor. She is an avid learner and is always looking for opportunities to grow and explore new approaches and will humbly take your lead.

When Shana is not in the therapy room, she enjoys being out in nature, gardening, being on, in, or near water, collecting ocean treasures, going on road trips, spending time with her people and her two dogs and getting engrossed in a good novel.
